Mozilla is a cross-platform browser suite including a browser, email program and HTML editor.  The
[[::thunderbird]] email program and [[firefox]] web-browser are children of the Mozilla source code.

The Mozilla suite can be localised and this section thus covers the localisation of the suite.  However,
the new [[firefox]] and [[::thunderbird]] draw on information relevant to all three.  In this case all 
information that is not product specific is also place here.

==== Full Installer ====

FIXME needs major review

This is how to create a repackage the full installer for Linux and Windows so
that it includes your language packs

  * You will alos need mozip.exe application for creating the installer on Windows.

===== Customising for your locale =====

There are a few things that you can customise for your locale including:

  * Browser identification
  * Accepted languages
  * Default search engine

In the file lang-reg/navigator/navigator.properties.po edit:

===== Publishing your work =====

You need to read the trademark policy.  As a start you can release versions
labeled community editions.  Once you/they are happy with the quality.  By this
I assume everything is translated (as I am not sure how they ensure quality).

After getting over your anger over the trademark policy you can do the
following:

==== Firefox and Thunderbird ====

Firefox and Thunderbird, not sure if this applies to Mozilla

First register for a CVS account, by reporting a bug in bugzilla.  Here is an example: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=265980
One requirements seems to be a completed localisation - which defeats the purpose of CVS.

You then commit localisations to CVS and if you meet the requirements and QA in the l10n policy then they will/might/maybe part of the official Mozilla Foundation releases.

==== Old Mozila Process ====

With the old Mozilla l10n you sent an email to [[mlp-staff@mozilla.org]]

Also email [[mozilla-l10n@mozilla.org]] to ensure that at least your builds are public knowledge.

==== Publish at Translate Sourceforge ====

If all else fails publish it in the Translate SF download area under the "Mozilla" package.  You might need to label things so that it says "Community Edition".

===== QA and Bug Checking =====

You need to test your build.  Probably the best preventative step you can take it to run [[toolkit:pofilter]]'s //variable//, //accelerator// and //escapes// tests.  Errors that these tests pick up are all capcable of introducing potential breakage that is hard to trace.

Mozilla also has [[http://talkback-public.mozilla.org/reports/mozilla/|talkback builds]] would be nice if you could trace some of these to localisation issues.
