The Mozilla Tools project has a broad scope and covers all tools including: Pootle, Translate Toolkit and Virtaal.

The project aims to simplify the localisation of Mozilla products by:

• limiting the need for knowledge of version control systems and the build environment
• protecting users from format peculiarities, format proliferation and tool lock-in
• simplify management over the project life cycle
• make it easier to measure and improve quality
